The Brand Logo Color Wheel

Roses are red, violets are blue, the color wheel is a reference every designer would recommend, and you need it for your brand's logo design too.

You’re probably familiar with the color wheel; if not, it’s exactly what the name itself suggests: a wheel of colors. It’s the most basic component of color theory, and it also plays a crucial role in all the designs you see around you – art, ads, graphic design, rooms’ accent walls, or even your favorite influencer’s OOTD, the color wheel is the go-to reference to see if colors work well together or not.

It’s also used by brands in choosing the right colors that will best represent their product, service, or promise to their target market because each color has a distinct psychological and emotional effect on people; and when certain colors are combined to form a palette, brand logos come alive with a character that’s 100% their own. Colors have their own meaning and this is why logos of the likes of Mcdonald’s, Coca-Cola, and Tim Hortons are red, and why the logos of brands such as Samsung, Unilever, and Facebook are blue.
